Getting to know Chaz Bruce, a notable Social Media Consultant and Social Media Influencer

In this article I was fortunate to interview Chaz Bruce, a true star in his own right. Chaz Bruce is a very notable Social Media Consultant and Social Media Influencer making a strong and lasting impact within the content creation community. If you have ever scrolled down your feed in TikTok, then chances are you have seen this warm and bright personality. What encouraged me to reach out to Chaz Bruce was his positive involvement within his community in the city of Rochester, New York. Too many times we are forced to take in influencers who are surface level, often with no sense of integrity, lack of goodwill and a negative ego. Whereas with Chaz Bruce, it’s a resoundingly opposite impression. You can actually feel the positivity and his warm and admirable approach on community collaboration. It is quite refreshing. I asked Mr. Bruce a series of questions and below you can find our interview.

Tell us a little about yourself, where your from, grew up, what H.S./College you attended, etc.

My name is Chaz Bruce, from Rochester New York. I went to John Marshall High School and graduated from Alfred University with a BA in Liberal Arts. Throughout my scholastic years, I was also a star running back, hip hop choreographer and choir director. I also taught music at Uprep Charter School in Rochester, New York through the Rochester City School District. I was also nominated for a Music Educator Grammy and have worked with notable brands such as Pepsi, Coca Cola, NBC and more.

What inspired you to get into social media consulting? Early experiences worth sharing?

As an early adapter to the TikTok app, I got the chance to work directly with TikTok as they made me an ambassador for the application within the first two months of my downloading it to my phone. I enjoy teaching others how to use TikTok to grow their brand.

Talk about a time where you have faced adversity/conflict and have triumphed.

I’ve always fought to be myself and to never be put in a box. In high school I was an all star running back but I loved to dance and play music. Often my football schedule would conflict with my music and dance schedule. One game I found a way to put them together. I sang the National anthem, played in the the football game then played the halftime show with the steel drum band…

What do you believe sets you apart from other Influencers and social media consultant’s?

What sets me apart from other Influencers is my bag of creative tools I am able to use. I am a comedian, dancer, educator, music producer, singer and I consider myself a positive personality.

Do you have other interests or hobbies?

Other hobbies I enjoy would be creating music and creating videos with my two sons. I also hold Content Collaboration meet ups, where I bring creators together and make content while teaching them the ins and outs of TikTok.

Any projects you have out or or currently working on?

I have a coloring book that I created. It’s made up of 30 viral TikTok videos that was sketched out on a page. There’s also a video playlist of those TikToks on my page called the “Brucegang” Coloring book.
