Introducing Andre Kivijarvi, A Tenacious And Passionate Model In The World of Fashion

In this highlight we turn our attention to Andre Kivijarvi, a hardworking model making waves in the fashion industry. I asked Andre a series of questions, here is what we discussed:

Tell us a little about yourself, where your from, grew up, what H.S./College you attended, etc.

Hey I’m Andre Kivijarvi, I’m currently living in Ridgewood, New York. I grew up all over the west coast but mainly in Seattle Washington. I went to Lake Washington High School but I did not attend a College.

What inspired you to be an model? Early experiences worth sharing?

I was scouted while joining a friend for an open call at Heffner Management in Belltown (Seattle Wa.). I traveled to Bangkok Thailand and lived there for 3 months modeling in the greater Bangkok area.

Talk about a time where you have faced adversity/conflict and have triumphed.

Well I’m an professional cyclist and that pretty much in our nature. The climb is everything. To conquer a hill and keep going regardless of the circumstances you build up this mental courage to keep going you make a choice, I’ll do it or I won’t.

What do you believe sets you apart from other models?

My authenticity, my story and my genuineness, also my ability to be entirely in the moment.

Do you have other interests or hobbies?

I’m a photographer and aspiring filmmaker. I like to keep myself busy/creative building things and overall making something from scratch its very satisfying.

Any projects you have out or or currently working on?

Building my website for photography.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

Living in a house that I have partially designed, traveling the world living in rural areas filming and photographing people and other cultures. Living as simple as possible. Being apart of creative ventures.

What advice can you give to aspiring models?

Don’t get to involved in the party scene. Find good photographers and work with them and arrive 15 mins early.
