In this highlight we turn our attention to Jacob Berger an entertainer hot on the scene, making impressive moves within both his personal brand and show business itself. I was recently fortunate enough to conduct an interview with this inspirational and down to earth entertainer, here is what we discussed;

Tell us a little about yourself, where your from/grew up, what H.S./College you attended etc.

I was born and raised in Bronx, N.Y. and attended Bronx Science for High School. I then went on to attend the University of Buffalo for my undergraduates degree as a psychology major before later attending Columbia University, where I received my Masters Degree for Social Work.

What inspired you to be an entertainer? Early experiences worth sharing?

I was always a class clown and always loved to entertain. I was involved in theatre as a child and studied at Ta-Da Theatre Company in New York. Despite having a passion for the arts, I chose to go the more “traditional” route, attending school and entering the workforce, it wasn’t until I got laid off from work that I decided to jump in and take a risk in Show business.

Shortly after, I created a parody video called “I’m a Jew” that went viral. The success of this video began to open doors for me in a really positive way. Since then I’ve emceed at big events and even joined the Screen Actors Guild.

Do you have someone you look up to? Who motivates you in business?

I’m really motivated and inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk. I’ve always been impressed with his work and he’s motivated me to take risks within my own business. I was able to meet Gary V. in person after I did a skit for his new sneaker line.

What do you believe sets you apart from other entertainers?

My hustle and my drive. I’ve been immersed in Show business for about several years now and one of the saddest things to me is to see other people give up on their dream. My goal is to leave a lasting legacy. Dont give up, when you think your about to give up, just try one more time.

Do you have any other interests or hobbies?

Haha yeah I actually am a pretty good cook. I love watching films/television shows not only for the entertainment purposes but to study the performances of the entertainers in the piece. I’m actually moving to California soon, so I’m sure I’ll find some more things to add to the list.

Any projects you have out or currently working on?

I’m currently finishing up a series for BET Digital called Majah Hype, that will be released real soon. I also recently appeared in the Netflix series Mindhunter (2019). You can also catch me in the upcoming Woody Allen Film, A Rainy Day in New York.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

I want to be in a position where I am a series regular. I see myself with nominations, but above all I see myself secure and living my best life.

What advice can you give to aspiring entertainers?

Don’t give up. Work hard. Try and Try again. Work harder than anyone you know.

How can we follow along in your journey? Social media?
