Tell us a little about yourself, where your from, grew up, what H.S./College you attended, etc.
I was born in West Africa, in a country called Ivory Coast. I moved to the U.S at the age of 11 and attended P.S89 in the Bronx, N.Y. At the age of twelve, my father moved us to a town called New Rochelle due to the extreme violence and bad influence we were exposed to growing up in the Bronx. I finished up middle school at Isaac E. Young Middle School where I met my best friend Reginald Altidor. We both have a strong interest in acting and film and through working on different projects my love for acting developed.
What inspired you to get into acting? Early experiences worth sharing?
My friend Reggie and I, always loved to shoot these little skits along with our other friends. We would reenact skits from different movies and stand up comedies. This later evolved to bigger ideas and later manifested into making short films. My first debut in acting for a short film was a short film we did called “Pressure”.
Talk about a time where you have faced adversity/conflict and have triumphed.
In 2015, I suffered five stab wounds to my body while I was at work. This was a time I thought I lost everything. I lost my job, my girl at the time and needed some deep healing. I began to use this time as a time of reflection and to focus my attention on the things that mattered to me most in life. It was through healing process that I finally realized I need to let go of all my fears in order to work on my future as both an artist and an actor.
What do you believe sets you apart from other actors?
My ability to be adaptable. I think being able to be mutable plays a very important role in Acting. You have to be able to get into character and manifest these emotions to align yourself with the roll of what this character plays.
Do you have other interests or hobbies?
Yes, in my spare time I enjoy making music as I’m also a singer and songwriter .
Any projects you have out or or currently working on?
Yes! I’m currently working on an EP, So I’ve been focused a lot on writing lately.
Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?
Lately I’ve been focused on manifesting my dreams into reality. The love I have for acting and my music aren’t really time driven. When you love what you do, time really doesn’t exist.
What advice can you give in regards to individuals looking to enter your line of work?
Always take care of your mental health. It is very essential when you are in the field of being a creative. Also surround yourself around good people who will support you and be there for you. Most importantly have lots of patience.
