In this highlight we turn our attention to Josiah Myers, lead singer of the band Last Youth. I happened to come across this band one day a few months back and was taken by the versatility within the music. Last Youth truly brings a fresh, youthful swag to the forefront and their music is truly something to appreciate and connect with. This is a band I am excited about and I am excited to see what the future holds in store for Last Youth. I asked the lead singer Josiah Myers a series of questions, here are his responses;

Tell us a little about yourself, where your from, grew up, what H.S./College you attended, etc.

I was born in Warsaw Indiana and I was a home birth because my mom is a hipster lol. I moved to detroit for a couple years then Columbus, Ohio for a majority of my life. For college, I attended Ohio University and for high school, I attended Big Walnut High School.

What inspired you to be musicians? Early experiences worth sharing?

My uncle actually taught me how to play “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Green Day after his son (my cousin), saw that I could keep a beat tapping my pens in middle school. From there I got curious about guitar and singing.

Talk about a time where you have faced adversity/conflict and have triumphed.

Actually having a music project I take seriously and a company that I am CEO of with over 100 employees, is the hardest thing I face everyday. I feel like I am always cheating on the other one but I conquer the adversity by following my dreams and balancing my time.

What do you believe sets you apart from other musicians?

My versatility of genre and desire to only make bangers. No B sides, no jamming and no fillers.

Do you have other interests or hobbies?

Business in general, sports, girls and bitcoin.

Any projects you have out or or currently working on?

We have a six song EP that we just finished a week or so ago thats going to be freaking killer just you wait..

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

Doing more of what I do today but at a higher level. Never quit and never stop chasing your dreams and keep growing your true self as a musician and a person.

What advice can you give to aspiring musicians?

My advice is never quit and never stop chasing the dream.

How can we follow along in your journey? How would one be able to reach you if they sought out a reading? YouTube? Social media? Sites?

Instagram or our website is best! IG: @lastyouthband or lastyouthband.com. I always respond to folks through there and I post regularly.
